The interview process for the data analyst role as a fresher was a combination of technical and soft-skill assessments. It started with an initial phone interview where the recruiter asked me about my academic background, any internships or projects I had worked on, and the tools I was familiar with, such as Excel, SQL, or any programming languages like Python or R.
Then, I was given a technical assessment, which involved solving some data-related problems. The task focused on my ability to analyze a dataset, clean it, and derive meaningful insights. It was a good opportunity to show how I approach problems and use the tools I’ve learned.
Finally, I had a panel interview where they asked questions about my understanding of data analysis, statistics, and how I would approach solving data-related challenges. They also asked some behavioral questions to see how I work in a team, communicate ideas, and handle pressure.
