      Manufacturing Engineer Interview

      1 Jan 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ZF Group in Dec 2022

      Interview

Interviewed for a job at the AZ location. I believe they’re trying to pay way under industry standard as I have over 3 years of experience and a master’s degree in engineering and asked for reasonable pay and did not get an interview after the phone screening. I see them reposting the same job over a month later. Don’t waste your time applying unless you want way less than industry standard.

      Interview

Ok this job application process was about 3 months long and here’s how it went, first I had the initial screening call, after having it, I thought it went well but I ended up getting a rejection 2 weeks later, because of that I just thought nothing of it, 5 weeks from that rejection though, I’ve gotten a call again on the same job and that the hiring manager actually liked my resume and felt my projects were relevant so he wanted the recruiter to set up an interviewer, although a bit outta nowhere I decided to give it a shot and go for it. On the first interview, the manager of the team was very unprofessional and didn’t even have his camera on, this was one where the recruiter was also in the meeting as well and the questions were pretty standard behavioral ones and also questions on my projects. Although it was unprofessional in my opinion, they did contact me next week for another interview, this time in person and at their plant, after setting up initial date, the manager said he’d like to reschedule so I complied and this new time was set up, when we had our in person interview, although it went well in my opinion cause it was essentially the same questions as the one from the teams interview, his team was also there as well alongside an HR personnel. The team was slightly unprofessional with one person not looking like he wanted to be there and also didn’t even ask me a single question, but I figured they were all just called up last second. Although I thought it went well, I was sent a rejection email soon after, the ironic part tho was that it was automated message that was the exact same as the first one. Considering throughout the entire interview process, I checked up on their job board and saw them repost the same job over and over again, I lowkey wondered why I even bothered to drive in person, especially since the morning of my interview, I saw three postings for the same job yet again. Tbh I really wondered what it was about my qualifications that didn’t work out since it was an entry role that not only I fit the description for, I even had pretty much exact qualifications for the preferred section as well. I reached out to both the recruiter and manager if I could atleast get feedback but they didn’t bother responding, but funny part yet again is that the job was reposted again the morning I got my rejection.
