      Software Engineer Interview

      21 July 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Broomfield, CO
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at ZOLL Data Systems (Broomfield, CO)

      Interview

First interview with HR over your resume. I believe this is called screening interview. Second interview was with managers, mostly going over resume and see if you fit with the company culture and have the skill sets required for the job. Third interview was with team leads and developers (2+ hours). This is mostly technical. Your MCSE, MCPD certification won't matter here and it won't help answering the "real" technical questions. You need to know what you applied for. Questions will be asked based on what level you have applied (junior, mid, senior). Question will not be "define this, define that" It will be more like "why do you use this, when do you use this, on what scenario you would use this" It won't be theoretical, it will be more into "utilization" of proper code in proper place.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

regularly used design patterns ... explain them and scenario where you can use it. how do you use interface? why do you use interface? why not abstract class instead of interface? dependency injection, why DI? benefits ... MOQ, unit testing etc?? refactoring ... what's the use of it? List vs IEnumerable ... javascript = vs == vs === way of doing null or empty in Javascript, difference between them. Again if you are trying to get job based on some fancy certification, this is not the place. With my experience so far, we look for experienced coders. Interview question will NOT be definitions. Another reason I choose ZOLL over other two offers.

What do you do in free times? This is not a employment deciding question. Be yourself.

      Software Developer Interview

      10 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at ZOLL Data Systems in Oct 2017

      Interview

Applied online. Took about two weeks to get back to me. Met with the recruiter who asked the standard questions. He could not answer the most basic questions about the jobs, even things such as team size or why the position is open. When we discussed compensations he said he had seen what I had put online for my desired compensation and I was way above what they were willing to pay and what I consider something for about $20,000. I responded no, and end of the interview. My desired compensation was already 10% below what I was making and in line with what other companies are paying. Apparently a very low paying company.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ZOLL Data Systems (Broomfield, CO) in Sept 2017

      Interview

It's in-depth, focusing on your experience with languages, what ways you used it, why you choose it, etc. Phone screen with development manager, in-person interview with the team. They were all relaxed and laughing, it's a really pleasant interview process.
