I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Zapier in July 2026
Interview
The recruiting team was incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. The recruiter assigned to me was responsive and went out of her way to answer or find the answer to all the questions that I had during our initial screen as well as between each round.
Although I did not receive an offer, I received great feedback at the end of the process with thoughtful praise as well as what didn't align.

Question 1
Describe your AI competency and your experience with AI.
I applied online. I interviewed at Zapier in June 2026
Interview
Had a first round of recruiter interview with Ezra AI assistant and it was not difficult. It was focussed mostly on my experience and past achievements and not very detailed.
The recruiter screen was positive, but the process felt different from most sales interviews I’ve been part of. There was less focus on sales metrics, day-to-day experience, or past performance, and much more emphasis on AI usage, sales methodology, and abstract thinking.
The second round was similarly AI-focused, with some vague questions that felt difficult to answer clearly. I was surprised by how little time was spent understanding my sales experience, current role, or getting to know me as a candidate.
The mock demo required many hours of preparation, but the interview itself felt difficult to execute well despite extensive preparation because of how cold and non-conversational the tone felt. While Zapier seems focused on AI and strategic thinking, the interview experience ultimately felt uncomfortable, impersonal, and off-putting.
