Everything started out great! Found the opening on Craigslist and applied, got a quick response, filled out a questionnaire over email, really solid communication and vibes. Then, I had a 30-minute phone interview with one of their developers. I thought it went really well, there were a few questions I had trouble with due to terminology differences, but overall I answered questions clearly and connected well with my interviewer. He thanked me and assured me that I would hear back from them by the end of the day.
And then... nothing. No call, no email. A week later, I emailed both him and the person who first interviewed me over email, mentioning that I hadn't heard anything and asking if they needed anything else from me. Absolutely no response. If you didn't want to hire me, fine, but don't tell me "we'll let you know by the end of the day" and then ghost me. Very unprofessional.
Also worth noting: When I applied, the required qualifications were not very steep - looking for web developers with experience in PHP and a few other things without specifying how much experience. I saw the posting again a month later and noticed they had revised it to put in bold text "2-3 years PHP in X environment", and so on. Seems pretty clear that they didn't specify the experience level they wanted in the first post, and when they realized that I wasn't experienced enough for what they wanted, they ghosted me and revised their post.
Based on all the other reviews I'm sure it's a great place to work if you get in the door, but if they kick people to the curb so easily... meh?
