Multiple rounds with various department leadership. Open conversation about my history and projects. Recruiter was heavily involved to start but then lead by the Director of Product at the time.

Question 1
Give an example where things did not go as planned and how did you handle that.
The recruiter found me and sent me a canned email that my experience matched the job very well. I had an interview with the hiring manager and it went very well. Then I got called for a 3rd round with a larger panel. That round went well too, the questions were general and somewhat easy for someone with my vast experience. Then silence for 2 weeks. Then I get an email saying they felt I wasn't "the right fit". It seems to me like they just interviewed me as a US citizen so they could check some boxes on an H1B application for someone else. They didn't even ask me many questions about my experience. On the positive side, they did not ghost me like many companies do these days.
