I applied online. I interviewed at Zone 5 Technologies (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2026
Interview
- Unprofessional attitude.
After passing HR screening interview, hiring manager interview and even after a technical interview. They simply sent a email that was exactly a mass email sent to all candidates whose application were not selected even for the HR screening.
I have not seen this attitude with any companies that I have ever applied for a position.
It is a professional practice that when a candidate's application reaches advanced steps and the company decided to not proceed to the next step, they send a specific email providing feedback or explaining the reason for not being selected for the next step.
I do not recommend this company to anyone.

Question 1
Potential growth in the number of team member for the position that I applied
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Zone 5 Technologies in Aug 2025
Interview
I did an initial video screening with the recruiter. He was very nice, professional and responsive during the process. The next interview was scheduled with the VP of Engineering, which ended up cancelling on me and I was reschedule with which I assume was the hiring manager. The hiring team ended up cancelling on me two more times (one just 5 minutes before the interview) for a 30 minute online interview. The recruiter requested to reschedule me a fourth time, and that's when I notified them to remove me from their candidacy list. They clearly do not value their candidates time and effort that was invested into preparing for an interview.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I want to sincerely apologize for the multiple reschedules and the inconvenience they caused. We understand how much time and preparation goes into each interview, and it’s clear that we fell short of respecting that commitment.
While unexpected changes sometimes occur, the number of interruptions you experienced is not reflective of the standard we aim to uphold in our hiring process. We will be reviewing what happened internally to ensure this doesn’t happen to other candidates in the future.
We truly appreciate the effort you put into engaging with us and the professionalism you’ve shown throughout the process. Should you ever wish to reconsider opportunities with us down the road, we would be happy to reconnect under improved circumstances.

Interview
The initial phone call was via Microsoft teams where I had my camera on but the interviewer did not. The questions here were the standard HR interview to see if you are a good fit and have some knowledge, and to learn what your experience was.
My second interview was with the director for the department where he asked me 100% pure software questions that would be expected for someone who is of a pure 100% software background, not an embedded software background. They did not ask me any relevant questions for an embedded software position, commented many times at how I seemed entry level--despite applying for the supposed entry level position--and this displeased them.
For example regarding questioning, when being interviewed for an embedded software position, one would expect questions on what is the volatile type and where is it used? What are interrupts and how do you handle them? There are billions of questions that could be asked in the embedded software field that draw on some knowledge of how it is used to interface with hardware, and instead I was asked about if I knew how to code for networking.
In general, it felt there was a real disinterest in interviewing for this role on the interviewer's side.
Best of luck to anyone else who interviews here.
