I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Zoom Communications in Oct 2021
Interview
This was a terribly disappointing and disrespectful interview process.
The whole process took about 3 months, 7 if you include the months where they ghosted me (as the "leaders in global communications").
Took three months of active interviewing. I met with a recruiter who sold me on Zoom, the culture, and the people. I then met with the hiring manager who moved me to the final round. Final round interview was a set of 2 technical interviews with fellow developer advocates
After the final interview I followed up with the recruiter. Nothing. Follow up again, also nothing. I finally reach out to the hiring manager, and again, nothing. I spend about a month following up and hear nothing. 5 months go by and I finally get a generic email telling me they've found another candidate.
After taking 3 months of my time to interview with them, a simple follow up email doesn't seem to be asking for much. Do better, Zoom. Respect your candidates. Respect their time. Respect their efforts. Practice the values you preach.

Question 1
A customer sends in a report saying they're having issues with a request. How would you solve this?
I applied online. I interviewed at Zoom Communications
Interview
Long delays in communication with recruiters and coordinators. Didn't really know what the process was going to entail and could have been prepared better. There were multiple people involved in my scheduling and messaging with me, so it often took way longer than normal to get updates.

Question 1
Coding challenge, but with lots of "gotcha" type situations to look out for.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zoom Communications
Interview
- Recruiter was awesome
- prompt, clear, and cares about candidate experience
- phone screening > 1:1 with hiring manager > three 1:1 with teammates (back-to-back)
- clear communication and expectation of interview process.

Question 1
- Interview was conversational
- with some behavioral questions relating to developer advocacy
- e.g. how would you deal with a difficult/upset developer
The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Zoom Communications in Nov 2021
Interview
The whole process takes more than 2 months.
Went through 5 rounds in total:
1st recruiter,
(2 weeks interval) 2nd line manager - very positive,
(1-week interval) 3rd senior partner support engineer- very positive,
(2 weeks interval) 4th a panel technical interview - very positive and pass the technical test.
(1-week interval) 5th round (last) with business dev rep - in general positive until the interviewer started to disregard that I am technically capable, not to mention passing the technical test and he choose to go by resume and background of his preferences of specific someone with years of technical experiences....
....The silent game then begins. with 2 follow-ups emails to ask for interview feedback and status (over 4 weeks, almost feel like ghosting) until the recruiter finally responded with an email that feedback and update will be provided by end of the week. on Sunday....No call...no interview feedback....just an automated rejection email.
WOW ZOOM!

Question 1
Nothing special. Plus don't bother too much. If you are interested to go through their unprofessional interview process, make sure your resume fits “literally” line by line what they are asking for.
