I applied online. I interviewed at Zoom Communications in June 2023
Interview
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter a couple days later. I chatted with them via video call; they were very friendly and it was a pretty straightforward recruiter screening. Then I heard back the following week to schedule the next interview with the hiring manager. A schedule coordinator set up that meeting. It was a 45 minute video call with the HM and it was fine, it wasn't that personable, it was like just a Q&A session. The HM was honest about what might make me not the right fit. I heard back the next day that they were moving on with other candidates via auto email and an email from the recruiter. After the HM call, there would have been a 1:1 interview with another designer to do a critique, then a 1:1 interview with a PM, and the last step is a design presentation.

Question 1
Recruiter: - what are you looking for? - are you comfortable with remote work? - what kind of team and culture do you want? - describe the day to day of your last role - describe a project you're proud of HM: - what's one of your strengths? - what's one of your weaknesses? - the HM asked me to talk about a specific project from my portfolio site
I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Zoom Communications
Interview
Recruiter was very communicative. But the process was super long.
Interviewers were nice but it was hard to understand what they really think. No professional feedback was given. Not even sure based on what exactly they make the final decision.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about one of your projects. What challenges did you face?
Pretty typical process. An additional round of an app or product critique with a design leader was interesting. Overall the interview process was relatively positive and good conversation. Didn't take too long, but about four rounds between the phone screen, manager interview, app critique session, and design presentation rounds.
