In the first interview, the Sr. Talent Recruiter yawned openly before we even started, then proceeded to yawn two more times.
They appeared to be going through the motions of the interview and did not appear to care about who they were speaking with. The role was compelling, so I ignored the red flags.
They stated it would be another 3-4 weeks before the next round of interviews, and I would be contacted with whether I was moving forward.
After the fifth week, I sent a follow-up email to the talent recruiter, but there was no response.
After seven weeks, I sent a follow-up email to the talent recruiter, but there was no response.
After nine weeks, I sent a final follow-up email to the talent recruiter, but there was no response.
Ghosted!
This experience has been shockingly unprofessional.
As a senior leader with over a decade of hiring experience, I would never want my recruiting team to treat a candidate in this manner. You don't ghost candidates or make them feel unimportant.
I'll also be moving my business and my extended family's home and auto insurance to another company. Your consumer and employer brand experiences both matter. I was a loyal belairdirect customer.
