I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at btrax in Oct 2020
Interview
There were 3 interview rounds to review your portfolio, culture fit, and if applicable language skills. Relax and be yourself! Since it is a boutique consultancy, they want you to be comfortable during the interview process and be able to fully express yourself. HR was efficient and communicative.

Question 1
Advice: Be clear what you can bring to btrax and how you would like to grow. You are guaranteed to wear many hats but also gain exposure to a variety of tools.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at btrax
Interview
The overall process took over 2 months with four rounds-three in-person interviews and a last minute design challenge that was expected to be completed over a weekend. Towards the end, staff was unresponsive to requests about the decision.
Status: Just launched an EC-only brand in the US, selling premium goods. The site is successfully launched and operational, and we would like to continue to refine the users' experience as we continue to work with (company) to introduce new footwear in 2018.
Assignment: in less than 10 power point slides and/or 500 words, please tell us how you would address current design challenges to Joe, the designer you have met at btrax. Please do not spend more than a couple hours working on this; we would like to judge how you might execute a real assignment from our team.
Deliverable: short presentation or response on the above
Current user feedback(some are true, some are fabricated for this exercise): Especially for the sports collections, users are having difficulty finding the right sized products. Aside from the top IA menu bar, it can be difficult to navigate to the right products. Do users know who (company name) is? The about section does not get a high click rate. Can users see the benefits of (company name) technology and attention to detail? Many times the users click "buy" before scrolling all the way down to read the product details. Please also consider improvements from a fundamental UX perspective that we might not have noticed, yet.
Deadline: 74 hours (prompt was given late Friday afternoon and due end of day Monday)
If you have any questions, please ask me before 6:00 pm today or I will get back to you during the day on Monday. Looking forward to making our decision to invite one of you exceptional UX professionals to our team. If your availability has changed, kindly let me know.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at btrax (San Francisco, CA) in May 2015
Interview
Phone call from the Office Manager with a casual conversation about the position details and my background and experiences.
Proceeded to an in-person interview with the OM, CEO, and Business Development Team.
Followed-up with a final interview with me giving a mock pitch presentation on btrax's services.
The interview wasn't as structured as other interviews I've taken in the past, but it allowed me to relax a little bit and listen to what btrax team members had to say about the position and their company. I didn't feel pressured to give a right or wrong answer; it was more like a business conversation.
