I applied online. I interviewed at buzzback (New York, NY) in June 2023
Interview
I had two interviews with Research Directors and Research Managers. The process was pretty standard. The team emphasized possibilities for career development in this role. Must be in person for this role.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at buzzback in Jan 2021
Interview
I applied via LinkedIn and was emailed by a lead/director our one of their teams. They set up a call with me to talk about the role and do an initial screening. Next I had an interview with two employees who would be in the same team I was applying for. Lastly, I had to complete assessments and create a PowerPoint as an assignment. I presented those materials to the same three people I spoke with. They reached out a few days later with feedback. I ended up not being a fit for the team but they were very nice and recommended me to another team. I interview with new people on the other team and was sent an offer a few weeks after.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you want to work as buzzback? What kind of research methods do you prefer? Give me an example of when you had to deliver bad news to clients? Tell me about a time you had to work to meet tight deadlines.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at buzzback (New York, NY) in Jan 2022
Interview
I applied online and interviewed three times. With a VP, a senior analyst, and a junior analyst on the team I would have been working with.
The first two interviews (1. With VP, 2. With Senior analyst) went great, very conversational and friendly and both of the interviewers moved me forward on the spot.
However the final interview with a junior analyst on the team was much more mechanical than the other two though I didn’t feel that it went poorly. The interviewer mentioned that this was one of the first times they’ve conducted an interview so I wonder if they were projecting their nerves onto my performance.
After that interview, I was told I’d hear from them after they finish the round of interviewing (in two weeks). The two weeks went by and I’ve followed up multiple times to no response. It’s disappointing to have invested so much time, have had such positive conversations, and not even be granted the decency of a rejection.
