The first, second, and third interviews were straightforward and went very well. Automatic feedback was given within the first two rounds of interviews (that is not to say that the third round was less professional or exciting).
I thought I had been ghosted, but after hearing back from the team 4 weeks after the second interview, I was told that I was being recommended for another (more senior) role that the team thought would be a great fit for me due to my work experience and history. I was informed, after that the third interview, that I would receive a job description and other materials before proceeding to the presumed fourth and final round.
Afterwards, I received a "generic" email from HR saying that I was not selected to move forward. I followed up to the email asking for feedback.
I was ghosted from the team. Without personally blaming HR, this lead me (and I'm sure others) to believe that the team does not care as much about transparency, diversity, and professionalism as they've stated throughout the interview process.
