      Virtual Assistant Interview

      2 Dec 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at eaHELP (New York, NY)

      Interview

Pretty standard interview process UNTIL the references and testing phase. The hiring manager asked to contact 3 of my past references-- nothing too odd here, of course. I emailed her the names of these people and alerted my former bosses about the reference check. 24 hours later I had heard from all 3 of these references, saying that they had NEVER seen such a long, detailed reference check before. Luckily, these former bosses obliged, and I passed the check with flying colors. For the next step, I was told that I would be doing a series of tasks over a week, totaling 15 HOURS! All unpaid, mind you. I'd like to make clear that this is for a job that starts at $14/hour, not even minimum wage in my state. Needless to say, I didn't participate in the rest of the interview. This process may work fine for some, but I just wanted to warn the rest of you out there who may have better options available to them. Good luck on your job hunts!

      Question 1

      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at eaHELP (New York, NY) in Sept 2016

      Interview

I'm not sure where to start. I was stood up on my first interview. After waiting 15 minutes, I sent my POC an email, but did not hear back until 48 hours later. There was no apology, rather the blame was placed on me. I was told there was a delay with eaHELP ATS server, so my POC never received my emails, or so I was told. After I completed my first interview and was handed off to another POC, the process went much smoother. I completed the skills assessment part and had my final interview, where I was informed I would only be paid $15/hour. I have 7+ years of management experience, doing more than most people do in 15 years. I was told I did not qualify for the highest hourly rate, as I did not have 10 years of experience or a masters degree. I withdrew my application, knowing I would not be properly compensated for my experience. There was no neogitation. I ultimately felt undervaluved and knew I would not be happy. Obtaining talent and quality people doesn't seem to be high on the priority list, rather fitting people into a pre-determined rank. It's sad there are not any exceptions, as I would have accepted a contract at the highest hourly rate. For a faith based company and sharing the same beliefs, I was greatly disappointed in the process and interactions. I was looking forward to working for a client with shared beliefs and/or a cause. The process could have been much more personal and positive. The company should evaluate every step of the process, as I believe they are missing out on great people.

First, I would like to apologize that you had a less than stellar experience with eaHELP. We strive to make each application process rigorous, but in no way difficult...especially in the area of communication, or lack thereof, as you have described. As uncomfortable as it is to admit, we do from time to time, have problems sending/receiving emails via our ATS. As soon as we are aware, we run to the issue and remedy the situation as soon as possible. As a rapidly growing company, eaHELP is constantly evaluating rate of pay and ensuring that we fall in line or above other virtual companies. As much as we would like to be, we realize we are not a fit for everyone. Please accept our apologies for your underwhelming experience and we wish you much success.

      Virtual Assistant Interview

      10 Oct 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Columbus, OH
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at eaHELP (Columbus, OH) in Sept 2016

      Interview

I only got through initial interview. The interviewer didn't seem impressed that I didn't do any community service while I was a stay at home mom (with two kids one of whom had special needs). Oh well. The interviewer was a woman and she was super nice! Seems like good people to work for.
