I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at goBalto (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
I took a full day off of work (unpaid) to attend a series of scheduled interviews. The first person was very late and did not apologize. He returned from his lunch late. The manager interviewed me by asking me to go to the whiteboard and figure out some stupid mind puzzle about carrying water across the river in buckets. He could not speak clearly and watched me struggle with the problem while he smiled. He spend 10 minutes watching me fail and said it was because he wanted to know how I think. That was the only question he had for me. He didn't want to know anything about me, my skills, accomplishments, or what I could offer. Just a geek who looked up the answer on the Internet and then took great pride in trying to prove he was smarter than I. Ridiculous, sad, and egotistical. After that, they told me that the other interviews for the day were cancelled and they would be getting back to me to re-schedule them. The never did. Typical start -up with huge egos, no management or leadership, and no manners or common sense. I will always remember this complany as the biggest jerks I have ever encountered and am relieved I did not get the job.
