I first interviewed with Ben, one of the individuals I would have been working with directly. Following that conversation, I interviewed with HR. During that discussion, HR confirmed the salary range, mentioned that Ben was impressed with my interview, and even stated that my anticipated start date would be either June 15 or June 29.
I found this surprising, as no offer had been extended and no final hiring decision had been communicated. Discussing potential start dates before making an offer struck me as premature and suggested a lack of coordination in the hiring process.
HR indicated they would follow up early the following week. Instead, I did not hear back for nearly two weeks, at which point I was asked to schedule another interview. I completed that interview as requested and then heard nothing further—no update, no rejection, and no communication regarding my status in the process. The complete lack of follow-up after multiple interviews reflected poorly on the organization's recruiting and candidate experience.
