I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at nLIGHT (Camas, WA) in Apr 2026
Interview
Easy questions, no tense feelings entering the room. Three interviewers asking about your resume and asking more information about your engineering and technical background. Great role for those starting after graduating college or looking to enter the manufacturing world.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at nLIGHT in Dec 2025
Interview
I interviewed with an HR person and it was an enjoyable and very conversational experience. It was thoughtful and informative, and we seemed to be on the same page.
I was then invited to interview with other members of the HR team and it was very disconnected and cold process. At the time of the interview, I was told that this second interview was going to be conversational, and I would know by the end of the week. Instead, I was met with hurried and non-thought provoking questions that could have been easily Googled. Additionally at the end of the interview, I was told "We're running out of time, but do you have any questions?" This made me feel that the team was not only uninterested in my questions, but they had already tuned me out.
I then had to reach out for a status of my interview, after the holidays some 12 days later, and was sent a canned response that I'm no longer in consideration for the role. No further insights or reasons were given. If a candidate is to spend time interviewing, it is only right that the organization provide further details and feedback as to why they are no longer in consideration for the role.
From one HR professional to another this was very disappointing and honestly cold experience.

Interview
I was invited for an interview there and got my flight taken care of. I like the company and people thus far. I was scheduled for a full day of interviews and got off fairly well with everyone.
Then came time to interview with the CEO. He shows up 15 minutes late and im completely understanding because he's a busy man. He says he doesn't have my resume so he starts turning on his computer to get it but says I can start. Start what? He hasnt asked me any questions. I tell him I have no problem waiting for him to get set up. He eventually asks me questions and he asks about things like my favorite college class, I havent been to college in 15 years at this point.
He then walks out, tell something to the Contracts VP and obviously the thing turned sour. I dont know what's happening and no one is being forthcoming. When I was rejected I was then told I was unprofessional.
I can only determine that the man is on an insane power trip and didnt pass a secret test of his.
Crazy place. Look at other reviews of this place, it doesn't look good. This might not be worth it.
