I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at upday (Berlin) in Dec 2019
Interview
Had one interview with the CTO, an onsite interview with a couple of people talking about my experience, their culture and going through some technical scenarios and a test exercise about a RESTful APIs application.
The interviewers were pretty good. I got a chance to understand a bit about the culture and the office which I liked (at leasts at that point).
The feedback for my test exercise was horrible.
I felt that they didn't care about my time, as if they already found candidates and came up with random reasons to reject me (making up requirements, demanding high production standards without consideration of time or pay and even reasons that were technically wrong). I also never got a chance to point out the issues with their feedback or even justify my decisions with someone.
Very weird experience with opposing conclusions. Onsite experience was good, some examples of agile software development and healthy culture. But looking at the test exercise they were not interested in learning or communication, expecting a lot of documentation which goes against agile software development practices.
