      Web Content Administrator Interview

      15 Feb 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at vouchercloud (London, England) in Jan 2019

      Interview

Three person interview, points for friendliness, however, I got the impression the interviewers weren't as prepared as they should have been. Asked a lot of questions that had been discussed during previous call. Repeatedly mentioned not willing to budge on wage (£19k, not advertised), which seemed a below average, but agreed wage with hiring manager before attending the interview. Felt it was a little weird that they kept mentioning no flexibility on the wage, without being asked or prompted during interview. Another red flag were the multiple discussions on being told to manage expectations as this would be an entry level (and boring) role, which felt like they were devaluing the job. Standard capability based questions (plus one really odd one) and there will be tests; first few were fine - grammar and punctuation - but last one wanted some ad copy, didn't leave clear instruction on what they wanted, so did my best in the time I had, but know I could have done better. Would have happily handed over some examples, or perhaps the company should ask that applicants prepare something before the interview. Promised results by the end of the following week, which passed, chased outcome and received response a couple of weeks later confirming I didn't get the position, due to lack of skills. Politely asked for more info on what skills I lacked for the role - not to challenge, just to help improve - but yet to receive a response. I've heard good things about working for this company, but felt let down by the interview and post interview process.
