Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Firmware Engineer's role involves defining system architecture, evaluating key technology options, and leading the delivery of software solutions. You will also be responsible for integrating a range of technologies in a regulated environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Completing new product development and demonstrating a track record of commercialized software products
Delivering robust software solutions
ing deep expertise in hard real-time and soft real-time software development
Utilizing advanced skills in C/Embedded C/C++ coding for hard real-time or near hard real-time applications
Managing and executing SWIL (Software-in-the-Loop) testing setup and execution
Developing simulation environments as needed
Setting up and maintaining software development environments
To be successful in this role you must have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Must hold at least a baseline security vetting on employment commencement, and ability to obtain NV1.
5+ years of experience in the design and development of optronic or electro-optical systems (
Deep expertise in hard real time and soft real time software development.
Familiarity with modelling and simulation tools
Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams and with international partners.
Strong technical communication and documentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to effectively engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
