How the process works
Principals may consider qualified and eligible applicants for suitable vacancies by matching your qualifications, skills, experience and location preferences to their vacancy.
You must have had your application accepted to this pool, and have had confirmation at the time a vacancy is listed, to be considered for an employment opportunity. Early offers may be made to pending graduates, based on the commencement date of the vacancy falling after your expected graduation date.
If you have accepted a fixed term placement, you will only be considered for further placements if they are:
If you are currently a permanent teacher with the Department your Principal/Line Manager will need to approve your release before you can accept a fixed-term appointment at another school or location.
Applying for this Graduate Teacher Pool does not guarantee appointment. Principals may choose to fill vacancies using other options such as local recruitment activities or advertising positions.
If you have participated in the WA Department of Education Leap Program (formerly known as the Switch Program) you should indicate on your online application that you are qualified to teach in your Leap qualification area and/or existing qualification area, even prior to completion of the program.

Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check through the Department of Education Screening Unit, a valid Working with Children Check (https://workingwithchildren.wa.gov.au) and Western Australian teacher registration. These must be confirmed prior to commencing employment.
Appointed applicants may be eligible for Recognition for Teachers - Prior Service and Qualifications.
