Description AML Communications wants to pump up the volume with its microwave amplifiers for wireless communications. The amplifiers support defense-related radar, satellite, and surveillance systems, as well as commercial wireless applications. AML also makes higher-power microwave amplifiers for the defense market through subsidiary Microwave Power. AML's customers include defense equipment manufacturers (such as Raytheon and Boeing), systems integrators, and commercial wireless operators (AT&T Mobility and Verizon Wireless). In 2011 AML was acquired by Microsemi for about $28 million in cash to complement its existing defense-related product portfolio and to expand its wireless communications business.
