Description AMSEC helps keep the Navy ship-shape. The company supplies naval architecture and marine engineering services to the Navy and commercial maritime industry. AMSEC technicians provide design, engineering, logistics, technical support, training, and maintenance services for virtually any shipboard system on ships, from aircraft carriers to submarines, at more than two dozen domestic and overseas locations neighboring US naval and industrial marine bases. AMSEC was founded in 1981 via a joint venture between SAIC and Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding. In mid-2007, it was reorganized -- certain operations were acquired by SAIC -- and, retaining its name, AMSEC became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northrop Grumman.
