Its lineup includes well water accumulators, hot-water expansion controls, indirect-fired water heaters, as well as fire-control sprinkler systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. AMTROL markets its products under such brands as EXTROL (launched in 1954), Diatrol, Therm-X-Trol, Water Worker, and Well-X-Trol. Founded in 1946, the company has grown; it operates manufacturing facilities in Rhode Island, Maryland, and Portugal and Poland, and sales and distribution centers in North America, Europe, and Asia.
