Astrotech is the muscle on the ground prior to satellite launch countdown. Formerly SPACEHAB, the company offers services and products that aid the US government and commercial customers in preparing satellites and cargo payloads for space launch. Its Astrotech Space Operations (ASO) business unit is a contractor that provides such services as ground transportation, hardware integration, fueling, and launch pad delivery. It also fabricates launch equipment and hardware. Astrotech's much smaller Spacetech unit is focused on using space-based technologies to develop commercial products in the chemical and biotechnology sectors. About 75% of Astrotech's revenues are made from NASA and US government contracts.
