The road paid with gold leads to Abertis Infraestructuras. The Spanish company is an international group that operates toll roads, airports, and telecommunications infrastructures throughout some 15 countries mainly in Europe but also in North America and Africa. One of the largest toll road managers in Europe, Abertis directly manages more than 3,700 km of road in such markets as Spain, Argentina, Chile, Portugal, and the UK. Abertis' airports group has interests in about 30 airports, and through TBI it manages about eight airports in Europe, the US, and Latin America. The company's telecom group maintains interests in major satellite operators in Europe, including Eutelsat and Hispasat.
