As a brand, Arcor may be no more. The #2 telecom provider in Germany behind Deutsche Telekom, the company is a subsidiary of UK telecom carrier Vodafone Group. Its parent company has plans to rebrand Arcor services under its own name. As a fixed-line carrier, Arcor offers data and voice services, including DSL and ISDN connections, to more than 20 million consumer and business customers located mainly in Germany's key metropolitan markets. The company also provides voice-over-Internet-protocol computer telephony services. Arcor is unique in that it operates its own ISDN network whereas most other carriers offer such service in partnership with the more established Deutsche Telekom.
