Description AuthenTec is good at fingering out who's using your electronic gear. The company designs biometric fingerprint sensor chips, a way to digitally verify identity and to allow only authorized users to access the equipment. Electronics makers incorporate its TruePrint devices into a variety of goods, such as automotive subsystems, PCs, and wireless devices. With most of sales made in the Asia/Pacific region, the company's top three customers (Fujitsu, Lenovo, and Edom Technology) together account for one third of revenues. The technology was originally developed within Harris Semiconductor; AuthenTec was spun out of Harris Corporation in 1998.
