CIMPOR - Cimentos de Portugal finds it easy to be hard. CIMPOR is Portugal's largest cement manufacturer and one of the largest on the Iberian Peninsula. The company produces and markets more than 31 million tons of cement around the world each year. CIMPOR also produces aggregate, concrete and precast concrete products, hydraulic lime, and dry mortars. The company operates in about a dozen countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America; about half of its cement is manufactured in Spain and Portugal. CIMPOR was created in 1976 as a state-owned entity, but the government of Portugal sold the last of its stake in 2001.
