New Concept Energy is exploring possibilities in natural resources, while keeping one foot planted in the long-term care industry. The firm owns a residential community for senior citizens in Oregon that provides support services for about 115 independent living units. New Concept Energy also has oil and gas production assets in the midwestern US, including about 100 producing wells and 120 non-producing wells, with a total proved reserves of some 7.6 million cu. ft. of natural gas. The company has gone through a number of industries over the years; it has divested most of its former assisted living communities and all of its cable and retail shopping assets, and it is seeking to grow its energy operations.
