    I applied online. The phone interview was set up within 2 days. Three people were on the other line.
    I knew from the beginning that CardConnect had two options in outside sales. A W2 employee 100% commission type opportunity, and a 1099 self-employed 100% commission based opportunity. I told them that I would like to have an honest and frank conversation to decide which was better for me.
    After we quickly came to the conclusion that since I did not succeed very much working for the company H , the CardConnect ACE W2 job was not the right one for me. They did not ask though for the reasons or did not dig any further which I think was a mistake. Neither did they ask about my previous merchant company, where I was a smaller star.
    After that I asked them about the 1099 opportunity. Here is where the problems started. The main person aggressively took over the conversation, and simply lied into my face that they knew anything about the 1099 program and who I should talk to regarding that. Instead tried to convince me to be the 1099 sub-rep of one of their existing W2s, claiming that they can teach me this and that. About compensation they did not want to talk about, they said that I should talk to their W2 person. Of course what the truth is that, this is not an official training program, and they just wanted grow their sales channel through a referral partner, at the cost of being dishonest with me and selling me on some unreliable education .
    The W 2 team is trying to recruit 1099 sub-reps under them. The one thing they do not tell you though is, that once you sign the dotted line to do so and put up with their marginal referral fee and worse schedule A, and later you realize, and want to be a 1099 on your own right for the right sales compensation, you will have to get the signature of your W2 above you to release you out. Which of course why would they give you that?
    Overall, I was very disappointed on their dishonesty. The only question I had for them who I should talk to regarding how to be a 1099 on my own right, and they lied into my face of knowing anything. I almost made a big career mistake because of them. I can tell you that they lost a person who may have less merchant services experience than they do and less of a network, but is a hard working and honest and good sales person, who may even reach their levels sooner or later.
