From its 130 retail centers in about 20 countries, the company provides lifting hoists, winching machines, slings, hydraulics, clamps, wire rope, and other products. Certex also offers consulting, rental, repair, and testing services. The company is owned by a partnership consisting of managing director Tony Stringer, sales and marketing director Charles Gillespie, and operations director Kevin Smith. Certex has been expanding through acquisitions, including the 2006 purchase of Global Defence Procurement and the 2007 purchase of RopeTek.
