Controlling about half of its home country's life insurance market, China Life Insurance Company is the insurance beast from the East. The firm is by far China's largest life insurance company, providing annuity products and life insurance for both individuals and groups. It has more than 90 million individual and group policies in force. China Life sells its individual products primarily through about 640,000 of its own agents, who are spread across the country at roughly 15,000 branch locations; another direct sales force handles marketing of its group policies. In addition to life insurance, the company provides asset management services and health and accident insurance.
