Through CompX's three divisions, security products, furniture components, and marine components, the company makes ball bearing slides, cabinet locks, and ergonomic computer support systems. Its primary customers are office furniture makers, but its components are used in recreational vehicles, ignition systems, vending equipment, mailboxes, appliances, and computer equipment. CompX's ball bearing slides are sold under names such as Dynaslide and Waterloo; its locks are sold under such names as National Cabinet Lock, Fort Lock, and Chicago Lock. NL Industries owns 87% of CompX International.
