Description Dermisonics is developing a transdermal patch, known as the U-Strip, for delivering insulin and other drugs into the body without a needle. U-Strip uses a battery-powered ultrasonic waveform transducer to enlarge skin pores with very high-frequency sound waves to allow drug molecules to enter and make their way to the bloodstream. Another product in development is the U-Wand, a handheld device that also uses ultrasound to apply cosmetics. The U-Wand is intended to offer users better penetration of cosmetics applied. Director Bruce Redding, Jr. controls more than a quarter of the company.
