ECRM can capture the picture "with" the thousand words. The company makes and services high-resolution color imaging systems for the printing, publishing, and graphic arts markets. ECRM's commercial and newspaper printing products include computer-to-plate (CTP) devices, imagesetters, and software. Its products use laser-based cameras to convert text and graphics into film images or plates for prepress duplication. ECRM was founded in 1969 by three MIT engineers who developed the first commercial laser-based optical character recognition equipment.
