GDST Snapshot
The Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) is a firm believer in single-sex education. The charitable organization is a group of about 30 independent schools for girls in England and Wales. The schools, which provide both academic programs and extracurricular activities, have a staff of 3,500 and enroll some 20,000 students ages 3-18. The Girls' Day School Trust offers scholarships, awards, and other financial assistance to enable all eligible girls to attend. About a dozen of the GDST schools are located in the London area. The charitable trust was founded in 1872.
