Gefran would like to gain control of the process automation industry. The company makes control systems, sensors, and instruments (indicators, inverters, timers, and solid state relays), as well as measuring systems for industrial processes such as electronics assembly and microelectronics fabrication. Its sensors measure force, pressure, humidity, and temperature; its pressure controllers and indicators are used in extrusion and injection-molding processes. Gefran also makes specialized computer systems for the rubber, plastics, food, and pharmaceutical industries. Chairman Ennio Franceschetti, along with his family, control the company.
