Gettysburg College Snapshot
Four score and many years ago, Gettysburg College opened its doors. The private liberal arts and sciences college has about 2,600 students. Its campus is adjacent to the Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. Gettysburg offers more than 41 bachelor's degrees. The college was founded in 1832; Pennsylvania Hall, the college's first building, served during and after the Civil War battle as a hospital for the wounded. In 1863, Gettysburg College students walked from Pennsylvania Hall into town to hear President Lincoln deliver his legendary Gettysburg Address.
