Description Houston basketball fans really blast off for this team. Rocket Ball owns and operates the Houston Rockets professional basketball franchise, a member of the National Basketball Association since 1967. The team was originally formed as the San Diego Rockets and awarded to Bob Breitbard. After moving to Houston in 1971, the team reached the NBA Finals twice before finally winning back-to-back championship titles in 1994 and 1995. The Rockets roster has been graced with such Hall of Fame players as Clyde Drexler, Moses Malone, and Hakeem Olajuwon. The franchise plays host at Houston's Toyota Center. Former Wall Street securities trader Leslie Alexander has owned the Rockets since 1993.
