Index Fresh is a grower-owned company that packs, ships, and markets fresh avocados. The produce it sells is grown in California or imported from Mexico and around the world. It markets products to customers across the US. Aside from Index's headquarters in Riverside, California, it operates a packing house in Bloomington, California and cold storage/ripening facility in Pharr, Texas. The company was a grower cooperative dating back to 1929, organized to pack and market lemons and oranges until the 1950s when it absorbed sister cooperative, United Avocado Growers. It became a corporation in 1999.
