Description The Indiana State Police (ISP) protects lives and property in the Hoosier State. The law enforcement agency includes nearly 2,000 troopers and other personnel. ISP investigates automobile accidents, inspects commercial vehicles, enforces traffic laws, recovers stolen vehicles, and investigates other crimes such as drug trafficking, missing persons, and child pornography. The agency's Capitol Police Section (CPS) offers policing at state-owned properties such as museums and the state capitol. Other divisions specialize in providing aviation support, explosive detection and disposal, dive searches, and hostage negotiations. ISP also operates four forensic laboratories that process evidence.
