Irex has its eye on the specialty contracting business. The employee-owned group, formed in 1969, includes a parent service corporation, an insurance company, and a network of more than a dozen affiliated specialty contracting companies that work through the US and Canada. Irex's affiliates offer services such as demolition, architectural finishes, fire protection, hazardous materials removal, metal building construction, home warranty work, and insulation installation. The companies work as contractors or subcontractors for the commercial, industrial, and marine markets. Irex and its subsidiaries operate from more than 30 offices in North America.
