Description Green cards are no longer green -- but they are high-tech, thanks to LaserCard. The company makes wallet-sized, recordable optical data cards that permanently store electronic text, graphics, photos, and security marks such as fingerprints and holograms. The tamper-resistant cards are used for such purposes as identification, security, and vehicle registration. Major products include US green cards and national ID cards for Angola and Saudi Arabia. LaserCard has manufacturing facilities in the US and Germany. Customers outside the US make up more than 70% of sales. ASSA ABLOY acquired LaserCard in 2011 in a deal valued at around $80 million.
