Description Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has propelled itself from the depths of poverty to its lofty position as the wealthiest Native American tribe in the US. With roughly 900 members and a seven-member government council, the tribe owns and operates Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. Foxwoods comprises six casinos, with a total of more than 6,200 slot machines and 380 gaming tables, plus four hotels (including the MGM Grand at Foxwoods) and the world's largest Bingo hall. Through its Foxwoods Development Company, the tribe develops and manages various hospitality-related enterprises, from a luxury spa hotel and golf courses to a museum and research center dedicated to the tribe's life and history.
