Description Milnot manufactures Beech-Nut baby food. With its 1998 purchase of Beech-Nut from Ralcorp, Milnot more than doubled in size and Beech-Nut is now the nation's #2 baby-food maker, behind Gerber. The company was founded in 1911 under the name Litchfield Creamery Company in Litchfield, Illinois. In 2005 the company sold its Milnot canned milk division, condensed and evaporated milk in which the fat is replaced by soybean oil, to Eagle Family Foods. The same year, Chicago investment firm Madison Dearborn Partners sold Milnot (along with Beech-Nut) to the giant Swiss consumer-products firm, Hero.
