Mitec Telecom designs radio-frequency (RF) components and subsystems for cellular base stations and satellite earth stations, used in mobile and fixed wireless infrastructure, satellite communications, and broadcast applications. Its products include tower mount amplifiers, power amplifiers, flexible waveguides, interference filters, and upconverters. The company's customers have included Lockheed Martin, Nokia, Siemens, and ZTE. To reduce costs, Mitec Telecom closed some facilities in the UK and the US, and consolidated most operations in Montreal. It also sold its China-based RF manufacturing operations and legacy satellite business to raise cash. The company gets most of its sales in North America and Asia.
