Mullen Group has mulled over its future and has decided it is about oil field services and trucking. Its oilfield services unit moves overweight and oversized equipment, such as drilling rigs, for the oil and gas industry in Western Canada. It also transports heavy oil and offers drilling, production, and pipeline services. Mullen's trucking unit provides truckload and less-than-truckload (LTL) freight transportation in Canada, Mexico, and the US. The acqusitive company operates a group of 30 wholly-owned companies and limited partnerships, and has grown through buying well-managed businesses (including fve in 2010) which complement its core operations.
