Description NeoPharm is developing new drugs for cancer. The biopharmaceutical firm's lead drug candidate Cintredekin Besudotox is in late-stage clinical trials to treat recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (deadly brain tumors). However the candidate's approval by the FDA has been delayed. While the company is proceeding with further development of Cintredekin Besudotox, NeoPharm is also focused on developing its NeoLipid drug delivery technology, which is used to enhance and lessen side effects existing cancer drugs. In 2010 the company expanded its research programs when it was acquired by Insys Therapeutics, a developer of pain and oncology treatments.
