New Ulm Telecom operates three incumbent local-exchange carriers (ILECs) serving southern Minnesota and northern Iowa: an ILEC serving New Ulm, Minnesota, and surrounding communities; subsidiary Western Telephone, operating in the Springfield, Minnesota, area; and Peoples Telephone, serving portions of Cherokee and Buena Vista counties in Iowa. Operating under the common NU-Telecom brand, they make up New Ulm's Telecom Segment and provide traditional phone services, such as local exchange access and long-distance, as well as cable TV and Internet access. The company's Phonery division provides customer premise equipment (CPE), offers transport services, and resells long distance toll services.
